Abstract: The role of career academies in preparing students for vocational careers is pivotal in bridging the gap between education and industry needs. This study investigates how career academies enhance vocational training and improve student career outcomes. The objectives are: (1) to evaluate the effectiveness of career academies in providing relevant skills, (2) to assess student and employer satisfaction with career academy graduates, and (3) to identify areas for improvement in career academy programs. A survey research design is utilized, justified by the need to gather comprehensive data from students, educators, and employers. The sample size includes 350 participants selected through purposive sampling. The case study focuses on career academies in Edo State, known for their innovative vocational programs. Findings indicated that career academies effectively equipped students with industry-relevant skills, leading to high employability and employer satisfaction. However, areas such as continuous curriculum updates and enhanced industry partnerships were identified for improvement. Recommendations included increasing collaboration between career academies and industries, regularly updating curricula to reflect industry trends, and providing more hands-on training opportunities.
